Approximately 100 kilometers (54 nautical miles) from Calcutta, a private operator inaugurated a cruise service to Gangasagar from Diamond harbour on Monday with the cooperation of the state government.

On the three days of the week, the 130+ passenger air-conditioned cruise operated by a private company with  HOLIDAY SEVA TOURS & The Gangasagar Tourism(dot)com. would depart from the Diamond Harbour Municipality jetty at 9.30am and arrive at Kachuberai ghat in Gangasagar (Sagar Island) in one and a half hours.

At 4.30 p.m. on the same day, the boat will depart for Diamond Harbour once more.
